A master-planned community where upkeep is visible from the street and consistency matters more than any single visit.
Lantana is a large master-planned community, which changes the brief in a way that has nothing to do with snobbery and everything to do with how the place is built. Front yards are visible, consistent and maintained to a similar standard, so a lawn that slips shows up fast.
The useful part is that the maintenance practice which keeps a yard looking right here is the same practice that keeps warm season turf genuinely healthy: correct mow height for the season, consistent frequency, feeding timed to the calendar rather than to a phone call, and aeration to open up compacted ground.
Much of the housing across this part of Denton County is newer build, and newer build carries a specific issue. Construction traffic compacts ground badly, and builder topsoil varies enormously. Sod frequently goes down over subsoil rather than anything that deserves the name.
That produces a lawn that looks excellent at handover and thins out by the second summer, usually in the same spots every year. The fix is soil rather than more fertilizer, and it costs a great deal less to deal with before turf goes down than after.
Warm season turf in this region grows from roughly March through October, around thirty to thirty-five mowing weeks. Two things follow from that. Annual maintenance costs more than national figures suggest, simply because there are more visits. And skipping cuts through the wet part of spring does real damage, because growth in April and May can outrun the rule that you never remove more than a third of the blade in one cut.
Lantana is covenant heavy. Anything structural generally needs architectural committee approval, and committees want drawings rather than descriptions. We can prepare what they ask for. The thing to plan around is review time, which is frequently the longest single step in a project.
Lawn care and maintenance is the core of what we do in Lantana, alongside drainage correction, bed renovation, planting, tree and shrub work, sprinkler repair and lighting.

Yes. Lantana is a covenant-heavy community and larger changes generally need architectural committee approval with drawings rather than a description. We can prepare what the committee asks for. Build review time into your schedule, because it is often the longest step in a project.
It does, for a practical reason rather than a social one. In a community where every front yard is visible from the street and maintained to a similar standard, a lawn that slips is obvious quickly. Consistency is also what actually keeps warm season turf healthy through a North Texas summer, so the two things point the same way.
Roughly March through October for warm season turf, which is about thirty to thirty-five mowing weeks. That is meaningfully longer than a northern market, so annual maintenance cost is higher than national averages suggest even at similar per-visit rates.
Newer construction across this region tends to sit on ground that was compacted during the build, and topsoil quality varies by builder. That combination produces lawns that look excellent at handover and thin out within two summers. The fix is soil, and it is much cheaper to address before sod goes down than after.
Check who actually supplies your water and confirm the current stage with them. Across this part of Denton County outdoor watering is restricted, and the authority is not always the town, which catches people out.

Standing water and established weeds don’t settle down on their own. They get more expensive to fix the longer they sit. An estimate costs nothing and tells you what you’re actually dealing with.
