Start with the symptom, not the service name

Most people call us describing a symptom, not a service. That is the right way round. Here is the translation:

The thing that connects all of it: North Texas clay

Almost every recurring yard problem in Denton County traces back to the same source. The Blackland Prairie and Eastern Cross Timbers soils under this area are expansive clays — they swell when wet, shrink when dry, and move a great deal in between. They also drain slowly, which is why a three-inch storm leaves standing water for days instead of soaking in.

That single fact explains an enormous amount:

  • Why drainage is the most-requested service here and the most-skipped step everywhere else
  • Why sod laid straight onto unamended clay looks perfect for six weeks and thins out by the second summer
  • Why a concrete patio poured on grade eventually cracks, and segmental pavers do not
  • Why a retaining wall built without proper base and drainage leans within a few seasons

We are not telling you this to sound technical. We are telling you because it is the reason a low bid and a fair bid can be two thousand dollars apart on the same job, and the entire difference is underground where you will never see it.

Common Questions

Do you do one-off jobs, or only ongoing contracts?

Both. Plenty of what we do is a single project — a drainage fix, a patio, a sod install — with no ongoing commitment attached. Lawn care is the one service that works best on a recurring schedule, because turf health depends on consistency more than on any single visit.

What area do you actually cover?

We work out of Double Oak and cover roughly fifteen miles around it. That reliably includes Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lewisville, Denton, Argyle, Bartonville, Copper Canyon and Lantana. Outside that, call and ask — we travel for the right job, we would just rather tell you honestly whether we can service you well on a schedule.

Can you handle a whole property at once, or do I have to pick one service?

A whole property is usually the better way to do it, because the order matters. Grading and drainage come first, then hardscape, then planting and sod, then lighting. Doing it in a different order almost always means tearing out something you already paid for. If the budget will not cover all of it now, we will phase it so the early work does not get wasted.

Are you licensed and insured?

Semper Fi Landscape Solutions is a registered Texas LLC and carries insurance. On irrigation specifically, we stay in the repair and troubleshooting lane rather than making licensed-trade installation claims — more on that on the irrigation page.
